How much will 2023 Canyon cost?

2023 GMC Canyon On The Road

The 2023 GMC Canyon costs around $38,400 for the base trim but can cost more than $57,000 for the top tier trim AT4X. This lands it on the pricier end of the spectrum for mid sized pickup trucks. The Honda Ridgeline and Jeep Gladiator cost more, coming in north of $40,000 starting, while the Chevy Colorado and Ford Ranger start closer to $30,000.

The Canyon has 4 trim levels, the base trim is monikered Elevation. It comes in with a bit more features than competitors’ base trims. It has an 11.3 inch infotainment screen, off road suspension, and a 2 inch factory lift. The Elevation has a wide variety of packages so you can start with the Elevation as your base and then add on different packages to suit your particular needs.

The next trim up is the AT4 trim which starts around $45,400 and comes with heated seats, red tow hooks, and a drive mode selector, with various other off-road packages available. The third tier trim is the Denali trim, which starts around $52,500 and comes with a head up display, Bose premium sound system, 20 inch wheels, a heated steering wheel and more. The Denali trim also has access to more sophisticated cosmetic packages that make your Canyon look more mature.

Last but most definitely not least is the AT4X trim which starts around $57,000. It comes with a 3 inch factory lift, driver selectable locking rear differential, a wide body stance, hill descent control, a spray on bed liner, and more. Our choice is the Denali for the level of sophistication it offers you.

Does the 2023 GMC Canyon require premium gas?

2023 GMC Canyon Interior

No the 2023 GMC Canyon does not require premium gas, if you would like to add premium gas you are more than welcome to as it may improve the performance of your vehicle but we will leave that up to you to decide. The engine that your fuel will be powering is a 2.7 liter turbo 4 cylinder engine that outputs 310 horses and 430 pound feet of torque.

This engine is a bit more beefy than engines found in some of its competitors, the Ranger only makes for 270 horses and 310 pound feet of torque while the Ridgeline only makes for 280 horses and 262 pound feet of torque. We love the canyon for its strong engine that gives it a bit more strength off the road.

How much bigger is the 2023 GMC Canyon?

The 2023 GMC Canyon is only slightly bigger than its 2022 model year predecessor coming in at 1 inch longer, 1 inch wider, and at most an inch or two taller depending on the trim you choose. The 2023 GMC Canyon was completely redesigned from the 2022 model year and we are enjoying the new trim.

The AT4X trim saw the introduction of more off-road capabilities coming as stock on the vehicle and the new 2.7 liter turbo 4 as the only engine. At first we were dismayed at the loss of the V6 but the new turbo 4 gets better gas mileage and has more power than the previous model years V6 and 4 cylinder engine. We are sad to see the loss of the diesel engine although it was a more practical decision since the diesel option was not selling quite well at all. We are happy with the new GMC Canyon and we know if you come in and test drive one you will find out why as well.
